NAPO Houston History
NAPO Houston originated as Houston Professional Organizers (HPO), and was the City of Houston’s first group of it’s kind, consisting of 19 Organizers. The first official meeting was held in 1998.
In 2002 HPO joined with the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), to become the 13th Chapter nationwide and the first in Texas. The Chapter elects a Board of Directors each year in May to represent the membership as its governing body and guide the strategic direction of the Association.
The Houston Chapter held the first Regional Conference in Texas in 2006, followed by a second Regional Conference in 2008.
Each January, NAPO National sponsors ‘Get Organized Month’ (GO Month), a national event reaching out to the local community to promote the benefits of getting organized. In the past, NAPO Houston has partnered with IKEA, University of Houston Small Business Development Center and various non-profit organizations. We've held shredding, recycling and organizing events for residential and business communities.
Ten years after joining NAPO National, the Houston Chapter has grown into a successful organization with a strong presence in the community.
